Charleston Ranked Number One Again!

The latest praise for Charleston – which in recent years has collected an impressive list of national accolades – was announced earlier this month: Travel + Leisure readers voted Charleston the “Top City in the U.S. and Canada” in the Travel + Leisure 2013 World’s Best Awards. Charleston was also ranked among the Top 10 Cities Overall in the popular annual survey (the “Holy City” comes in at No. 7 on this list). This is the 18th year Travel + Leisure has conducted this survey-based awards program. The results are featured on TravelandLeisure.com and in the magazine’s August 2013 issue.
Travel + Leisure readers also gave high marks to many of the area’s hotels – six to be exact! Congratulations to Charleston Place, Market Pavilion, Wentworth Mansion, Planters Inn, and the French Quarter Inn, all located in downtown Charleston, and The Sanctuary Hotel on Kiawah Island. These are all outstanding places to stay if you’re visiting the Charleston area.
