The Holiday season is here! There are all kinds of activities planned throughout the Lowcountry for all ages. Here are a few suggestions of things to do in the Summerville, Goose Creek and Charleston areas to get into the Holiday spirit:

Lakeside Light Display Opening Night
December 1 | 6:00 PM
Goose Creek, SC
The City of Goose Creek kicks off the holiday season with their annual Lakeside Light Display. The event starts at 6:00 PM at the Goose Creek Municipal Center and will feature local holiday music, visits with Santa, cookie decorating, marshmallow roasting and a hayride. Letters to Santa 
December 1-17
Goose Creek, SC
Starting on December 1st and continuing through the 17th children can write letters to Santa and drop them off in the special Santa mailbox at the Goose Creek Community Center. All participants will receive a personal letter in return from Santa himself.  For more information visit the City of Goose Creek website!

Gingerbread Creations Contest
December 1-31
Summerville, SC
Summerville DREAM will be holding a Gingerbread Creations contest downtown throughout the entire month of December. These whimsical creations will be on display to the public throughout historic downtown Summerville. Prizes will be awarded within several categories. 27th Annual Reindeer Run

Charleston, SC
The Reindeer Run, presented by Half-Moon Outfitters, is a family-friendly community event held in downtown Charleston. All funds generated from this 5k walk/run are donated to MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and the Charitable Society of Charleston’s endowment. City of Charleston Holiday Parade
December 3 | 2:00 PM
Charleston, SC
The City of Charleston and the Charleston County Fire Department will host the annual Charleston Holiday Parade on December 3rd. The parade runs through downtown Charleston and ends on Calhoun Street at Meeting Street. This is a wonderful family-friendly event. For more information click here.

Summerville CommUNITY Holiday Diversity Lightfest

Join the Summerville commUNITY for fun and fellowship at the first annual Summerville CommUNITY Diversity Lightfest, featuring the lighting of the Hanukkah Menorah, Christmas Nativity/Feliz Navidad, and Kwaanza Kinara. Christmas Tree Lighting

The annual Summerville Christmas Tree Lighting, sponsored by Flowertown Garden Club and DREAM, will be held on December 5th in front of Summerville Town Hall .This community event draws thousands to celebrate the holiday season. Senior Christmas Dinner

Goose Creek, SC
The Goose Creek Recreation Department and Metro North Church are joining forces for the Senior Christmas Dinner. This holiday event is free to Goose Creek Seniors and only $5 for non-residents. Carnes Crossroads Holiday Market 2017

The Carnes Crossroads Holiday Market is back! More than 60 vendors selling all kinds of local, handmade gifts, goodies and treats will set up shop at the Green Barn the afternoon of December 9th for a holiday extravaganza. Festive decor will adorn the Green Barn, the sounds of holiday music will fill the air, and Santa will even make an appearance! Food trucks will provide plenty to eat and drink. 36th Annual Holiday Parade of Boats

The women of Junior League of Summerville are hosting The 2017 Christmas on the Square. Come see a collection of fabulous Christmas Trees throughout downtown Summerville for this two-week period and vote for your favorite one. Summerville Christmas Parade
